MEETING DESIGN RESEARCH
Increasingly, meeting professionals are responsible for providing high quality meetings and events that deliver maximum value for minimum costs. As a result, the meeting and event industry is undergoing a paradigm shift in how it defines, plans, and executes meetings and events. Meeting Design represents a framework and bridge between the state of meetings today and their future. Yet, while the term "Meeting Design" may seem self-evident, there is no clear consensus surrounding its definition, methodologies, or practices. The objectives and outcomes of this research are:
- To create credible, relevant and accessible knowledge and tools which will make meeting professionals successful when tasked with strategically implementing meeting design into their meeting portfolio.
- To provide insight in the different visions/thought streams, tools, vendors and subject matter experts who are working on meeting design.
- To show an understanding of the varieties of options for strategic meeting design.
- To utilize "lessons learned" in developing and implementing meeting design strategy.
This research is the first comprehensive scientific effort to understand and explain Meeting Design. Thus, the results, and the delivery of information may be as unique as the Meeting Design strategies and principles themselves.
